Cutter for rigid foam continuous extrusion line - has thin blade moving at extrudate speed to cut across foam while held under tension

Rigid foam is cut on a continuously moving line by a knife in the form of a thin blade. The blade is held and tensioned in supports and is at an angle to the movement of the foam line. The supports run in parallel guides on opposite sides of the foam line and pull the knife through the foam under tension by means of a drive. The drive can be a belt connected to both holders (44,52) so that tension on the leading holder releases the belt (58) on the following holder. USE/ADVANTAGE - The invention can cut foam cleanly and quickly immediately after extrusion.
