<p>PURPOSE:To avoid that all recorded data cannot be used by a method wherein, when a tape end is detected by a detection means while a recording instruction which has been received from an external device through an interface means is being executed, the time of record end is informed to the external device. CONSTITUTION:When a tape end is detected by using a tape end sensor 7 during the recording operation of a recording data, the recording operation is continued until a break of the data. An end signal is recorded for indicating the recording end after a data recording operation has been stopped. After the recording operation of an end signal has been finished, the operation of a rotary cylinder 15 and a capstan motor 11 is stopped and the recording operation is finished. A fact that the data has been recorded up to the break of the data and a fact that a recording residual amount does not exist on a tape are informed to an external device via an interface circuit 17. Thereby, it is possible to avoid that the utilization of the tape on which the data is recorded when the tape end is detected before the recording operation is finished.</p> |
