An automatic grille with a swivelling member (9) to halter the heads of cattle has a number of openings for feeding. An activator bar (12) runs above and parallel with the horizontal top member (2) of the grille, and at the junction with the swivelling member (9) there is a sleeve (14). The bar (12) can be rotated about its long axis to enable one of two indents (21,23) to be on the top of the sleeve (14). The swivelling member (9) has a forked end (15) which surrounds both the top tube (2) and the bar (12), and is closed at the end by a block (16) with a vertical hole. A pin (19) is pushed down through the hole and locks in one of the idents (21,23) selected, keeping the swivelling member (9) in an open or a closed position. ADVANTAGE - A simple and more reliable device.
