PURPOSE:To reduce the number of circuit elements by providing a flip-flop circuit connected from the output of seventh and sixth transfer gates to the output terminals via at least eighth and ninth transfer gates, respectively. CONSTITUTION:A bidirectional latch circuit A has one input/output end connected to one end of a transfer gate G2 and the other input/output end connected to one end of a transfer gate G5. The other end of the transfer gate G5 is connected to one input/output end of a bidirectional latch circuit B constructed in the same manner as the bidirectional latch circuit A by an inverter IV3 and transfer gates G6 and G7. The other input/output end of the bidirectional latch circuit B is connected to an input/output terminal I2 via transfer gates G8 and G9. The two or more flip-flop circuits are connected to one another in succession. Thus, without using left and right shift control circuits constructed by complicated logic circuits, a bidirectional shift register can be obtained and the number of circuit elements is reduced. |
