PURPOSE:To obtain a flame-retarding resin composition which is halogen-free and is improved in flame retardancy, cold flow resistance, tensile strength, mechanical properties, etc., by mixing a specified base resin with Al(OH)3 and furnace carbon black. CONSTITUTION:60-90 pts.wt. acrylic elastomer comprising ethylene, methyl acrylate and a polymerizable organic carboxylic acid is mixed with 40-10 pts.wt. ethylene/methacrylic acid copolymer to obtain 100 pts.wt. base resin. 100 pts.wt. said resin is mixed with 25-140 pts.wt. Al(OH)3 having a particle diameter of 0.5-1.0mum and being optionally surface-treated with, e.g. stearic acid, 8-40 pts.wt. furnace carbon black and optionally red phosphorus, a crosslinking agent (accelerator), an antioxidant, etc. |
