PRODUCTION OF NON-RIGID POLYURETHANE FOAM

PURPOSE:To obtain a nonrigid polyurethane foam having reduced density, excellent elasticity and improved elongation by reacting an active hydrogen-containing component comprising water as a blowing agent and an additive composed of a nitroalkane as an essential component with an organic polyisocyanate compound. CONSTITUTION:An active hydrogen-containing component comprising an active hydrogen compound, water as a blowing agent and an additive composed of a nitroalkane as an essential component is allowed to react with an organic polyisocyanate compound (e.g. diphenylmethane diisocyanate-based polyisocyanate). The amount of water blended is 20-10 pts.wt. and that of the nitroalkane is 0.5-5 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. active hydrogen compound.
