Automatic optical controller of component dimensions - has component contour cast on two gauge screens in front of photocells behind transparent and opaque screens

The appts. includes two photo-electric sensors placed side by side in front of a support. A screen having a transparent zone and an opaque zone is placed in front of each sensor so that the limit of the central zone defines a gauge, one screen giving the minimum dimensions, the other the maximum. The light sources cast the component's contour successively on each gauge. Pref. the min./max. dimensions gauge is a transparent /opaque (4') surface on which the component contour appears as a shadow/light spot, respectively. If the dimensions are faulty the photo-electric sensors receive light and give a reject signal.
