PURPOSE:To facilitate the faithful simulation of the sounds produced by repeated touching of a natural musical instrument, such as piano, by generating musical tones in the form of reflecting the characteristic fluctuation by the previous sound. CONSTITUTION:The remaining quantity of the musical tone signal corresponding to the previous performance information is determined at the time of generation of the later performance information by a central processor 12 when two sets of the performance information are successively generated from an information generating means 18A. The characteristic of the musical tone signal corresponding to the later performance information is controlled according to the musical tone control data corresponding to this remaining quantity. The musical tone control data is formed by taking the characteristic fluctuation that the later sound receives into consideration according to the remaining quantity of the previous sound and, therefore, the musical tone signal corresponding to the later performance information is generated in the form of reflecting this characteristic fluctuation. The sounds generated by the repeated touching of the natural musical instrument, such as piano, are faithfully simulated in this way. |
