PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of recording data capable of efficiently recording data which is once recorded with a variable transfer rate and which is coded with the variable transfer rate on another recording medium with a fixed transfer rate. SOLUTION: The data coded by the variable transfer rate is recorded on a random access recording medium with the variable transfer rate, and simultaneously, the recorded data is recorded on a tape recording medium with the fixed transfer rate (the rate larger than a mean recording rate of the variable transfer rate for the random access recording medium).
