<p>Faulty fluorescent lights (1) blink on and off and continue to consume electricity. A device is provided which comprises a photoelectric cell (2) connected to the gate electrodes of FETs (34) whose sources and drains form a part of the fluorescent light's (1) feed circuit (4). If the fluorescent light (1) fails, the signal produced by the cell (2) is no longer sufficient to support the on-state of the transistors (34) and the light's power supply is cut off. Until it is replaced, the light (1) does not blink on and off and consumes no electricity. This device can be used particularly in private and public lighting systems for business premises, offices, buildings, roads, motorways and motorway junctions, stadiums, shops and aircraft and boat cabins.</p> |
