Moulding motor housing for vehicles - e.g. injecting polymer between mould tools heated to above polymer recrystallisation point, removing tool, inserting metal part and cooling

In prodn. of a synthetic resin motor housing by casting thermoplastic material is injected into a mould and a bearing for the shaft of a rotor core is introduced into a part of the motor housing with a small dia. before the polymer has dropped to its glass transition temp. the polymer is then cooled down to room temp. ADVANTAGE - Produces a polymer housing without the production problems which have arisen hitherto e.g. varying properties from the orientation of fibre reinforcements, shrinkage from recrystallisation, long moulding cycles, formation of amorphous local points, etc. The bearing holders have excellent circularity and the bearings will not become loosened. The prod. is used in vehicles.
