The helmet communciation system has a carrier incorporated in the helmet, with a first carrier section (26) supporting a loudspeaker (33) adjacent the wearer's ear and a second carrier section (27) supporting a microphone (35) in contact with the skull. Pref. the carrier is made of a flexible or deformable material and it pref. incorporates an integrated pre-amplifier for the signals supplied by the microphone, its amplification factor adjusted via an external setting control. ADVANTAGE - Good damping of acoustic feedback.
