Insertion of bristle bundles into brush heads - where preformed bristle holes are heated by punches and bristle bundles are folded and inserted at next stage

A process and machinery for locating bristle bundles into brush heads. A heating station preheats the preformed bristle location holes prior to reaching a bristle loading station. Bristles with folded ends are forced into the holes where the displaced, plasticised polymer cools and locks them into the holes in the brush heads. Additional anchorage can be provided at the loading stage. The loading machine has a heating station with a number of heating punches which penetrate the preformed bristle location holes. A bristle loading station folds the bristles bundles before insertion into the holes. USE/ADVANTAGE - The process loads bristles in brush heads, can be performed on existing equipment with low cost modification and gives an excellent bond between bristles and brush head.
