A position adjustment system comprising: a means for extracting pixel data on a peripheral of the first circle in the first image; a means for extracting pixel data on a peripheral of the second circle, cocentric to the first circle in the second image; a means for rotating the pixel data of the first and the second images relatively to each other by a predetermined number of pixels; a means for detecting the maximal identification ratio which detects the maximal identification ratio of the first and second pixel data and an angle and direction of the rotation; and a means for comparing the first and second images with each other by rotating them by the angle and direction of the rotation. <IMAGE>
