In a surface of pre-manufactured ceiling or wall elements of metal or plastic materials and wherein the single element has a plank- or plate-like open box form, two adjacent elements (2, 12) are joined together by means of a T-shaped interlocking device made of metal or plastic materials and having a stem (4), a smaller surface (6) projecting from above the stem and continuing via a bend (7) in a projecting, upwards facing surface (8) which terminates in a locking bead (9) and which is locked into position on the wall (5) of the one element (2) for tightly joining together the flange (10) of the other element by means of a spring effect between the surfaces (6, 8) and through the abutment of the bead against the inside of the wall (11) of the element (12).
