The stand includes two flat elements 1, 2 each one having a lower edge 5, 6 which is slightly curved, and a projecting central part 7, 8 having substantially the internal shape of the bell of the instrument and connected on each side by a groove 9, 10 to the base 3, 4 of the element. The element 1 has centrally at its lower part a slit 11 which covers over a solid part of the element 2 to allow these two elements to be joined together in the shape of a cross. The bell of the instrument engages around the assembled projecting parts 7, 8 and its circular end rests in the grooves 9, 10. The support applies to numerous wind instruments such as clarinet, oboe, soprano saxophone, trumpet, cornet, flugelhorn, flute, etc. <IMAGE>
