<p>PURPOSE:To simplify the structure of a coil by supplying a large number of coils installed at a railway with AC power and by controlling the operating point of a linear motor through controlling the frequency and current of the AC power. CONSTITUTION:A railway R is laid in the water between bases B, B established underground in land parts L facing each other with a sea part S between and a large number of coils 2 are installed at the railway R with a given space, while a railway vehicle V is provided with superconducting magnets M, M' facing the coils 2 to constitute a synchronous type linear motor. Then, when the frequency and current of AC power supplied to the coils 2 are controlled to control the operating point of the motor, the railway vehicle V is driven while the weight of the vehicle V on land is balanced with its buoyancy in the water.</p> |
