<p>PURPOSE:To attain the effective application of a storage area even if a storage unit having a logical conflict exists between the storage control areas by storing the data like the picture data on a memory card, etc., for each storage unit, producing a table after checking the using state of each storage unit at application of the card, and carrying out the storage control based on the table. CONSTITUTION:A storage area 12 of a memory card 10 is divided into the clusters 14 of the prescribed storage capacity. A directory DIR 16 is used as the control data on the clusters 14 together with a memory allocation table MAT 18. The other part of the area 12 is used as a picture data area 20 where the picture data are stored. The DIR 16 is searched before the information is written into the card 10, and the MAT 18 is tracked in terms of the DIR 16 kept under application for production of a storage unit table which shows the idle/busy state of the relevant storage unit pointed by the MAT 18 among those storage units. Thus it is possible to prevent such a problem where a storage unit that is permanently unusable is produced.</p> |
