PURPOSE:To increase the degree of freedom in layout of various components in the lateral direction of a vehicle by disposing the center of a crankshaft to the rear of the transmission center and approximately above the center of a differential gear located to the rear of the transmission, and tilting the engine toward the front. CONSTITUTION:A transmission 12 is disposed with its center Z directed in the lateral direction of a vehicle on the front left side of a ladder type subframe 11. A differential gear 15 with its center Y in parallel with the center Z of the transmission is disposed to the rear of the transmission 12 and is connected via an idler 16 to the transmission 12. An engine 17 having a crankshaft center X is disposed to the rear of the transmission center Z, approximately above the differential center Y, and above the differential gear 15. The engine 17 is of an in-line multicylinder type with its cylinders tilted toward the front and mounted through an engine mount 19 on the subframe 11. |
