The shoe is intended to go over the cleat of the pedal/cleat system. The cleat has, in a plan view, a rounded end towards the front and a descending vertical portion at the back and is equipped, at the bottom, with a forwards pointing lip. The shoe comprises a sole with a planar rear part 12 and a front part 14 the upper face 15 of which comprises a horizontal plate terminated at the front by a vertical stop piece 27. A cross-member assembly 16, 18 rises up above the sole 12, the first one 16 leaving the rear edge of the latter and the second one 18 leaving the front edge, including an upper edge which is cut out and forms lateral locking teeth and, pointing towards the rear, has one or a plurality of bosses 26. The plate 15 is intended to receive the lower face of the front of one such cleat and the gap 25 between the first and second cross-member receives the descending cylindrical portion of the latter, the edge of which fastens under the or the plurality of bosses 26. The second cross-member 18 consists of two parallel cross-members 17, 18 separated by a gap and cut out in a similar way. <IMAGE>
