1310912 Spray device IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 5 May 1970 [28 May 1969] 26921/69 Heading B2F A spray device comprises a reservoir 14 for the liquid to be sprayed, a rotatable member 11 the lower part of which extends below the maximum level to which the reservoir 14 may be filled, the rotatable member having a periphery from which the liquid is discharged as a spray above the maximum level, the member also providing a path for the transport of liquid from the reservoir 14 to the periphery, the device also comprising a shroud having a sector which permits the passage of only a part of the spray discharged from the rotatable member and which intercepts and returns the rest of the spray to the reservoir 14. The output of spray can be varied by varying the rate at which liquid is metered into the reservoir 14. In an alternative arrangement the cone may additionally be provided with radially diverging holes drilled from the apex to its upturned base in which liquid travels up to the holes as well as the outside surface of the cone. Furthermore a hollow cone may be used in which a path for the liquid is formed on both the outside and inside faces of the cone. Also the cone may be replaced by a planar disc having a central hollow tube dipping into the liquid in the reservoir and having an impellor at its base to force the liquid up to the level of the disc. |
