The room in a building is divided by a sheet of plastics (4) or by panels (5) which extend from the ceiling to the floor (1) and telescopic posts (3) support the sheet (4) or panels (5). Each post consists of an upper square section tube (7) which fits inside a lower square section tube (6). The overall height of the telescopic tube is adjusted by a transverse pin (11) which passes through two diametrically opposite holes (9) in the lower tube and through one pair of several pairs of holes (10) in the upper tube.
