A weft thread cutting device comprises an arm that can be swung into the shed between the warps to sever the thread between fixed and movable jaws, held in abutment under pressure. The arm (1, Fig. 1 not shown) is biased by a spring (15), and is swung by means of a follower arm (11) engaging a cam (20). The movable jaw (4) is spring biased and connected to a spring follower arm (6) engaging a cam (8). In the closed position the jaws abut over substantially their entire length. A finger (24, Figs. 6, 7, not shown) may be fixed to the movable jaw to press the weft into the fell of the cloth. |
