The slide valve for controlling the flow of liquids or gases has a housing, with sealing-plates (1,4) which move towards each other crosswise to the direction of flow. At least one plate has a hole (15) in for the liquid or gas to go through. At least one of the plates (1,4) is made of composite material such as carbon reinforced by fibres (2) made of glass, plastic or fabric attached. The fibres (2) run parallel to the plates' (1,4) slide surface (13). The one plate (1) has one or more attachments (35) and/or cavities (3) for holders and/or controls.
