PURPOSE: To extinguish fire and prevent explosion effectively by extending extensible slit-processed metallic foil by pulling in a longitudinal direction to deform into a three-dimensional wirenet. CONSTITUTION: A front fringe of a metallic foil 66 in a continuous sheet form is removed from a feeding roll 34, passed between a stabilizing roller 64 in a horizontal direction and a stabilizing roller 65 in a vertical direction, then passed between knife rollers 43, 44, furthermore, passed between a stabilizing roller in an additional horizontal direction and stabilizing rollers 64, 65 in a vertical direction, and finally wound on a winding roller 53. When one portion of a foil 66 is separated from knife rollers 43, 44, a lateral line of a non- continuous slit is formed on the portion; thus, if desired, it is drawn to make a prismatic wirenet extended in honeycomb form by pulling. Thereby, the metallic foil is wound in a non-drawn state on a compact roll, transported to an upper position of surface firing by an airplane and airdropped. The foil is drawn by gravity during dropping and covers a quite wide area. |
