PURPOSE:To obtain a hypotensive agent having excellently vasodepressor activity by subjecting live cells of lactic acid bacteria to self-digestion and extracting the prepared suspension with hot water. CONSTITUTION:Live cells of lactic acid bacteria are suspended in hot water at pH6.0-9.0 at 50-70 deg.C, preferably in 10-80mg/ml cell concentration for >=1 hour and the lactic acid bacteria are subjected to self-digestion. Then the suspension after the self-digestion is heated to 95-100 deg.C, a hot water-soluble component is extracted to collect an extract, which is optionally further dialyzed, raw- molecular-weight substances are removed and a high-molecular-weight fraction is collected to give a hypotensive. Or live cells of lactic acid bacteria are ground by a homogenizer, extracted with hot water, preferably the extracted solution is dialyzed and a low-molecular-weight part is removed to give the hypotensive agent. |
