PURPOSE:To promote a counter measure to a trouble, by storing into fixed memories, the operating condition of an engine above a set speed such as, for example, overrunning and high speed racing, and by reading out such stored contents for utilizing the latter to estimate the cause of trouble. CONSTITUTION:In such an arrangement that a control unit 1 controls the time of opening a fuel injection valve 8 in accordance with signals from an air flow meter 2 and a speed sensor 12, the signal from the speed sensor 12 is also delivered to a comparator for comparing the signals with a set speed signal so that the resulted evaluation by the comparison is delivered to a set speed exceeding cycle counter 14 and a set speed exceeding duration counter 15 through a noise preventing time counter 20. In this stage, the counter 14 counts 1 when engine speed exceeds a set speed after a noise preventing time is elapsed, and the counter 15 counts the duration of the excess speed and stores thereof into fixed memories 16, 17, respectively. Further, these stored contents in the memories 16, 17 are read out for making suitable countermeasure upon engine inspection or engine repair. |
