PURPOSE:To constitute an anti-corrosive layer on a surface and to acquire a high corrosive protection by pulverizing a permanent magnet material of a specific atomic composition containing M, or M and Ni and a specified amount and by making M, or M and Ni exist on a powder surface. CONSTITUTION:A permanent magnet material is provided with an atomic composition of RxT100-x-y-z-wByMzNiw (where R is one or more kinds of rare earth elements containing Y, T is Fe, or Fe and Co, 5.5<=x<11.76, 2<=y<15, M is one or more kinds of Ti, V, Cr, Zr, Nb, Mo, Hf, Ta and W, and 4<=z<=15 and 4<=z+w<=30). A permanent magnet powder is made by pulverizing the permanent magnet material which substantially has a primary phase of a crystal structure of tegragonal system or has such a primary phase and amorphous and/or crystal R-poor secondary phase. The permanent magnet powder which is acquired pulverizing such a permanent magnet material has M and Ni on a surface thereof. The surface thereby works as an anti-corrosion layer and a highly efficient permanent magnet material of extremely good anti-corrosion can be acquired. |
