The copier includes a lamp to form an electrostatic latent picture on an image carrier, and a reflector to direct the light to the original and to the image carrier to erase the latent image. The lamp has light emitting sections alternating with no light emitting sectoins. The reflector has rectangular openings to pass some light on the image carrier and with webs facing the centres of teh no light emitting sections. THe lamp (40) of the copier is a halogen lamp with several incandescent filaments for light emission, linked by no light emitting wires. The reflector has a discharge light opening with several sections broken by webs which are shorter than the wires. The lamp (40) and a support motor (77) are controlled by a microcomputer (75) which receives signals from the support position detectors (65,66) and a control panel (12).
