The immersion fuel pump has a pump housing. It has a pump chamber (42) and a vapour jet (50) running through the housing to join the pump chamber with the inside of a fuel tank to bleed off vapour-fuel mixtures. A noise damping chamber (62) is arranged between the jet and the fuel tank with a throttle point (60) set between the damping chamber and the fuel tank. USE/ADVANTAGE - Fuel pump in which the outflow noise of the fuel vapour, which is produced at a relatively low frequency as the vapour passes through the jet, is suppressed.
