YEAST SNF1 HOMOLOGOUS PROTEIN PHOSPHORYLATION ENZYME GENE OF SOLANACEAE PLANT

PURPOSE:To provide the SNF1 homologous protein phosphorylation enzyme gene of a Solanaceae plant, a plasmid containing the enzyme, and a transformant holding the same. CONSTITUTION:In order to control the invertase generation of a Solanaceae plant, a protein phosphorylation enzyme gene exhibiting the property homologous with a yeast protein phosphorylation enzyme SNF1 gene is collected from a cultured tobacco plant, and a plasmid holding the gene and a transformant holding the plasmid are produced. Thereby, the amount of the generated invertase can artificially be controlled by the inhibition or activation of the protein phosphorylation enzyme, and the carbohydrate content of a crop can be controlled.
