PURPOSE:To obtain plywood with small warp by a method wherein the cross grains of a pair of veneers, which locate symmetrically with respect to the middle point in the direction of the thickness of the plywood, are aligned in nearly the same site. CONSTITUTION:Front face veneer 11 and rear face veneer 12, both the cross grains of which are placed in nearly the same site and have the same thickness are aligned symmetrically with respect to the middle point in the direction of the thickness of plywood to be produced and bonded through adhesive to core veneer 13 so as to produce three-layer plywood A containing a pair of veneers, which locate symmetrically with respect to the middle point in the direction of the thickness and the cross grains of which are placed in nearly the same site by trueing the four sides of the plywood to the arbitrary sides when necessary. Thick band-like veneer 14 with a thickness two times as thick as the desired thickness is turned from a cylindrical low quality log 1 and cut to lengths so as to produce thick veneers in specified lengths 15. Finally, the thick veneer in specified lengths is bisected in the direction of the thickness. |
