PURPOSE:To preclude the stopping of the engine while the treadling of an accelerating pedal is being released upon a no-load operation by a method wherein an electronic control unit, generating a control signal for an idle-up device in cooperation with the output signals of a no-load operation detector and an acceleration detector, is provided in the system. CONSTITUTION:A fuel injection valve 5 is utilized as the no-load operation detector for detecting a down count while a throttle sensor 14 is utilized as the acceleration detector for detecting the accelerating operation condition of the engine. Further, a bypass pipe 15 and an opening and closing control valve 16 are utilized as the idle-up device. Operations to make the idle-up by reducing the air-fuel ratio of mixture supplied into the cylinders of the engine and the same to make the idle-up by advancing an angle for an ignition timing are included in the idle-up device, whereby, the revolving number of the engine will never be reduced below the normal idling revolving number even if a throttle valve is opened suddenly upon the no-load operation and successively the throttle valve is opened, thus, the stopping of the engine may be precluded. |
