The device uses a ring-shaped elastic element (24), which is fixed to a first part (16,17) and to a second part (18,19). By the transfer of the torque from the engine part (10), the elastic element (24) becomes compressed in one area and stretched in another area. Cut-outs of the first part (16,17) effects the stiffness of the twisting element and provides in the areas of the parts.a place against which the elastic element (24) can rest. For this purpose it is also possible to make the radius of the contour of the first part (16,17) and the second part (18,19) smaller than the radius of the elastic element (24). USE/ADVANTAGE - Determination of torque from rotating engine part. By use of elastic element in form of ring, device becomes esp. short and takes up only small space.
