PURPOSE:To obtain the subject yarn resistant to crease, having excellent feeling, etc., and usable as weft, warp or sheath yarn without causing fluffing, end- breakage, etc., by applying a resin to a silk fabric, laminating a gold foil, etc., and slitting the fabric into thin strips. CONSTITUTION:A woven fabric 1 (e.g. a plain weave fabric) is produced with a warp silk yarn and a weft silk yarn having a thickness of preferably 15-30 de. The fabric is coated with a resin 3 (e.g. acrylic resin) and a metallic foil 5 (e.g. gold or silver foil) is placed on the coated surface to obtain a woven silk fabric 7. The objective yarn is produced by slitting the fabric into thin strips of 2-3mm in width. |
