PURPOSE:To limit the broken point of the optical fiber cable when the cable is broken at the mid-point thereof by interposing optical demultplexer in the optical paths of optical fiber constituting the optical fiber cable and utilizing the branch light thereof. CONSTITUTION:The optical fiber cable 1 has the two optical demultiplexer 11, 12 and coated optical fibers 13 to 18 are connected via the demultiplexer 11, 12. Light is transmitted from the end A of the optical fiber 13 parting a piece of the coated optical fiber and is received at the end D of the optical fiber 16 in the case of using the optical fiber 1 for the optical transmission line. The branch light is received even at the end A of the coated optical fiber 14 parting the different coated optical fiber and the light is transmitted from the end D of the optical fiber 17 and is received at the end A of the optical fiber 15; in addition, the branch light is received at the end D of the optical fiber 18 as well. The broken point is limited to the specific section segmented by the optical demultiplexer when the optical fiber 1 is broken. |
