The invention relates to a cover 1 for a surface water drain 4, the cover being provided with an adjustable splash guard 2, by means of which objects and/or surfaces situated in proximity to the drain can be protected against splashes. The cover 1 for the surface water drain has been designed so that it prevents rubbish getting into the drain 4 itself. It is easy to remove rubbish accumulating on the cover 1, since the entire cover 1 with its splash guard 2 is easy to detach and refit in place. <IMAGE>
