NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formula I (R<1> and R<2> are lower alkyl; R<3> is H or lower alkyl; R<4> and R<5> together form -CH2CH2- or -CH2CH2 CH2-; R<6> is lower alkyl). EXAMPLE:1-[alpha-Methoxy-(4-N,N-dimethylamino)benzyl]-3-(4-N,N- dimethylaminobenzylidene)cyclohexene. USE:A pressure-, heat-sensitive and photosensitive recording material. PREPARATION:A benzaldehyde derivative expressed by formula II is condensed with a cycloalkanone expressed by formula III through dehydration using a basic catalyst to provide a cycloalkenone derivative expressed by formula IV, which is then catalytically reduced and subsequently reacted with acids, such as perchloric acid, to afford a cycloalkenium salt derivative expressed by formula V. The resultant derivative expressed by formula V is then reacted with an alkaline metal salt of alcohols expressed by the formula MOR<6> (M is alkaline metal). |
