PURPOSE:To obtain an electric double layer capacitor, the rates of change of ESR and capacitance of which are reduced and which has excellent breakdown voltage, by conducting impregnation with an electrolytic solution containing tetrafluoroborate tetraalkylammonium as the solute whose one alkyl group has a molecular weight layer than those of other alkyl groups. CONSTITUTION:Propylene carbonate, gamma-butyl lactone, 1,3-dioxolane, acetonitrile, dimethylformaldehyde, 1,2-dimethoxyethane, sulfolan, nitromethane, etc., are used as a solvent in an electrolytic solution. Tetrafluoroborate tetraalkylammonium formed by reacting tetrafluoroborate ions and tetraalkylammonium ions, the molecular weight of one of alkyl groups of which is larger than other alkyl groups, is employed as a solute. Accordingly, breakdown strength is made higher than an aqueous solution system while the changes of ESR and capacitance can be improved. |
