PURPOSE: To obtain a high tension steel cord structure which imparts high tensile strength and rigidity in rubber and has satisfactory rubber permeability by twisting three specified steel filaments at a prescribed twisting pitch. CONSTITUTION: Three steel filaments 1 having 0.27-0.35 mm diameterδ, 0.2-0.45% elongation under partial load and high tensile strength Rm are twisted at a prescribed twisting pitch with a tubular twisting machine or a double twisting machine to obtain the objective steel cord 10 for reinforcing the breaker of a rubber tire. This cord 10 has satisfactory rubber permeability independently of payoff tension.
