PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of fogging and to improve sensitivity by incorporating specific compds. under specified conditions into emulsion layers. CONSTITUTION:The compd. expressed by the formula I is incorporated at >=400mg and <=3.5g per 1mol silver halide and the compd. expressed by the formula II is incorporated at 1/400-6/400 amt. of addition of the compd. of the formula I, respectively, into the silver halide photographic emulsion layers on a base. In the formula I, R1, R2 denote an alkyl group, alkenyl group, aryl group; either of R1 and R2 denotes a sulfoalkyl group or carboxyalkyl group; R3 denotes an alkyl group; X<-> denotes anion; Z1, Z2 denote a nonmetallic atom group necessary for completing a benzene ring or naphthalene ring; n denotes 1 or 2. In the formula II, R1, R3 denote an alkyl group; R2, R4 denote an alkyl group, hydroxyalkyl group, sulfoalkyl group or carboxyalkyl group; X<-> denotes anion; Z1, Z2 are synonymous with the formula I; n denotes 1 or 2. The genera tion of the fogging is suppressed in this way and the high sensitivity is obtd. |
