摘要 PURPOSE:To improve lubricity and wear resistance by forming coupling agent layers between protective carbon films formed on the surfaces of magnetic recording layers formed on a substrate and lubricating agents applied on the extreme surfaces. CONSTITUTION:The films of Cr are formed as underlying layers 2 on a glass disk 1 subjected to chemical strengthening and the films of a Co-Ni-Cr alloy are formed as the magnetic metallic layers 3 thereon. Further, carbon films are formed as the protective layers 4 thereon. Acetoalkoxy aluminum diisopropylate as the coupling agent is dissolved in a solvent and the soln. is applied on such disk. The disk is then rested for one hour at 110 deg.C and is further the unbonded coupling agent is washed away by the solvent, by which is coupling agent layers 6 are formed. Perfluoroalkyl polyether is diluted in a solvent and the soln. is applied as the lubricating agent thereon and is rested for 5 minutes to form the lubricating agent layer 5. The magnetic recording medium having the excellent lubricity and wear resistance is produced in this way.
