PURPOSE:To develope the title alloy having excellent magnetic characteristics by subjecting a mixture contg. specific ratios of specified rare earth elements, Co, Fe and Cu and at least one kind among Ti, Zr and Hf to melting, cooling and grinding, forming it in a magnetic field and thereafter subjecting it to sintering and solution heat treatment. CONSTITUTION:A mixture having the compsn. expressed by general formula (in the formula, R denotes at least one kind among lanthanoid series heavy rare earth elements such as Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er and Tm, M denotes at least one kind among Ti, Zr and Hf and 0.01<=x<=0.6, 0.03<=y<=0.5, 0.03<=a<=0.35, 0.01<=b<=0.15, 0.002<=c<=0.06 and 8.3<z<=9.9) is subjected to melting, casting, solidifying and coarse grinding, is furthermore subjected to fine grinding by a ball mill, etc., and is thereafter subjectrd to press forming, e.g., in a magnetic field of about 5 to 20kOe. The green compact is sintered, is subjected to solution heat treatment and is successively subjected to aging treatment, by which the permanent magnet having low temp. coefficient alpha of magnetic flux and having high coercive force Hc and maximum energy product BH max can be obtd. |
