摘要 PURPOSE:To decrease the quantity of refresh for preventing the deterioration of the quality of photographic printing, and to reduce running cost by composing a base substrate for a recording head of a thin first layer having the same hardness as a recording electrode and a second layer having the hardness of not more than half the first layer and being thicker than the first layer. CONSTITUTION:A head substrate 10 consists of a base substrate 12, in which a thin layer 12-1 mainly comprising SiO2 is formed onto a thick layer 12-2 constituted of an easily shaved inorganic material such as mica ceramics through a thin-film process such as sputtering or thick-film printing or the like, and a recording electrode 11 shaped by W, Cr, etc., through sputtering, etc., onto the base substrate 12. When a recording head is refreshed, recording paper 400 and a refresh sheet 500 are superposed on a platen 20C, the head substrate 10 is pushed against an alumina coated surface in the refresh sheet 500, and the recording paper 400 and the refresh sheet 500 are carried respectively in the directions of the arrows C, D, thus polishing the head substrate 10, then completing refresh. Accordingly, the same effect is acquired by the quantity of refresh of approximately one fifth of conventional examples.
