1282589 Resistance element CARRIER CORP 11 Aug 1969 [20 Sept 1968] 40121/69 Heading C1M [Also in Division H1] An electrical resistance element is made by forming a finely divided mixture of glass and metal or metallic material (e.g. a resinate), blending the mixture with an organic medium comprising ethyl cellulose dissolved in 1-decanol or 1-undecanol to form a mixture of printable viscosity, printing the blend on to a ceramic substrate, and heating to drive off organic material and bond the glass and metal to the base to form the element. The glass may be a lead borosilicate glass, and the metal one or. more of Au, Ir, Ru and Rh. Ag and/or Pd may also be included. The ceramic substrate may be steatite, fosterite, sintered or fused alumina or a zircon porcelain. |
