The milling cutter with replaceable cutting inserts comprises a body (1) having two flutes (4, 5), each possessing a housing (4', 5'), the base of which forms, with the longitudinal axis of the body, a non-zero helix angle. In each housing there is fixed replaceably a cutting insert (6, 7) comprising a tip portion emerging from the front face of the body, and a major cutting edge projecting along the outer side edge of the flute. The position and the shape of this insert are such that the cutting angle of the milling cutter decreases towards the end of the body, and that the clearance angle of the milling cutter is constant. ……
