PURPOSE:To contrive improvement in spinnability of a liquid and roundness of a fiber cross section, by regulating the amounts of water and a solvent to be added under respective specific conditions in forming a viscous solution from a mixed raw material of a metallic alkoxide and organometallic compound. CONSTITUTION:A metallic alkoxide expressed by the general formula M(OR)n is mixed with an organometallic compound expressed by the general formula R'n-mM' (OR'')m and water, a catalyst and a solvent are added to form a viscous solution. In the general formulas, M and M' are metallic elements; R, R' and R'' are alkyl groups; n is 3 or 4 and m is n-1. In the process, the amount of the added water (P) (molar ratio to the required number of mol) is limited to the range of 0.8-2.0 and the amount of the solvent (r) (molar ratio to the total number of mol of the raw materials) is regulated to the range of 0-1. Since the amounts (P) and (r) of the water and solvent attain the optimum values, viscosity of the solution is in the optimum state for spinning. Thereby, the spinnability of the solution is improved to provide a round fiber cross section. |
