<p>A hyperbolic echo image is formed taking vehicle travel distance and reflection wave propagation time into account, before displaying the image on a screen. A hyperbolic dummy image is formed, then displayed on the screen, before making its vertex position and its shape coincide with those of the echo image. A computing section which uses know information relating to the dummy image, calculates wave propagation speed, and findings are used with other data to calculate the depth of a reflecting object.</p> |
