PURPOSE:To secure a stable capacity by using 4 phenyl borate, 4 phenyl phosphoric acid, 6 phenyl arsenic acid, and 6 phenyl antimonate, etc., of alkaline metal specified as an electrolyte. CONSTITUTION:In an electric double layer capacitor which consists of a polarizable electrode, a separator and a current collector and contains a capacitor element impregnated with electrolyte in a case, at least one kind of XB(Ph)4, XP(Ph)4, XAs(Ph)6, XSb(Ph)6 [where X is R4N (R is an alkyl group having 1-8 carbon atoms) or an alkaline metal] is impregnated into the capacitor element as an electrolytic solution containing electrolyte. The rate of capacity change can be thereby improved, especially when X is R4N. |
