A multipurpose device for cleaning and treating surfaces is designed to be mounted on a mobile base. Said device comprises means for delivering the cleaning or treating agent, for example water (29, 31a, 32), actuated by first driving means (33) and co-operating with a device for filtering or recycling the cleaning or treating agent (30), suction means (31b, 32) driven by second driving means (36), and articulating means (16, 16a, 16b) actuated by third driving means (17) and on which are mounted items of equipment (34) suited to the work to be performed. The various driving means are controlled consecutively or simultaneously by electronic data-processing means.
